Thankful Thursday

Hello All,
It has been awhile since I have posted a post of substance. Life has been keeping me busy. Work has been interesting and definitely intriguing to a degree. It is amazing how life can be a repeat of the past but when you look at it from a different context/perspective it can change the whole situation.

I have much to be thankful for but this post I want to focus on my husband and friends. There is a poem that I love about people coming into our lives and I will post it at the end of this.

My husband - I have truly been blessed with a great man. I am thankful for all that he has done, all he is currently doing, and all he plans to do for our family. He always thinks about us before himself and makes sure that we are set before he does anything for himself. He works hard out of the home and helps in the home. He has stepped up tremendously in the house since I have been adjusting to the schedule of a night shifter and it has been such an amazing blessing. I have to include my mother-in-law in this post because she did not have it easy raising two boys in the area we lived and she did such an amazing job. The things she instilled in her children is what has made them the men they are and I will be forever grateful.

Friends - We were blessed by a visit from friends we have not seen in 2 years. They went out of their way just to visit us and it was a reminder that there are people that are just meant to meet and be a part of each others lives. I had to work the majority of the time they were here but even with that we enjoyed each other's company. Even though we had not seen each other in 2 years, as soon as we picked them up from the airport it was as if we were never away from each other. It was such a great time and a boost to my soul that I needed desperately.

I am a strong believer that everyone is put into your life for a reason and whatever that reason may be; whether for yourself or the other person, it is a blessing. Sometimes in disguise...lol...but a blessing none the less.

Here is the poem that I love:

Reason, Season, or Lifetime
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;
to provide you with guidance and support;
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Whether you are in my life for a reason, season, or lifetime, I am so grateful for you being in my life and  hope I can be a blessing in yours.

Have a great rest of the week.

Love to you all,
Sharon
